Foreign buyers

Your team on the ground in Portugal, while you stay at home.

From the US, Canada, the UK or anywhere else, most of the process can be done without travelling.

How it works

  1. We talk by video call, email or WhatsApp, at a time that suits your time zone.
  2. We prepare a power of attorney tailored to what needs to be done, with instructions for your country.
  3. You sign it at a Portuguese consulate, or before a local notary with an apostille and, if needed, a certified translation.
  4. You send us documents digitally and, when originals are needed, by post.
  5. We act for you and keep you informed at every step, then send you the final documents.

Who should hold your power of attorney?

Never someone on the other side of the deal, such as the seller's agent. An independent solicitor is bound by professional rules, carries professional liability insurance and answers to you for every step.

What still requires someone to attend

A few acts require specific people to be present. In inheritances, this is the formal declaration of heirs, made by declarants who can often be people living in Portugal. When someone really has to come, we plan it so that one trip is enough.
